Pardon my ignorance, what does "duvening to hashem" mean?
Is that like praying to G-D? (I noticed you did that - thing in your journal, I'm not poking fun)

davening is a yiddish word for praying, hashem is a name we use when we want to say G-d because of fear of taking his name in nain
you got it right though! (you can ask me anything dont worry about ignorance)

Awesome.
Thanks for learn'n me, ha ha.
Yah, that's why I asked if you were jewish.
Anyways, the reason I was so curious about your impression of my "303" was because originally,
my friends and I had the idea of having a stereotypical middle eastern muslim looking woman in a burka
with a star of david painted on her hand, lifting the fabric from her face and revealing...?
Well, the idea was vague, the fabric didn't look like a burka, the star looked crooked, and the whole thing seemed overly contrived.
We weren't sure what the message was supposed to be, and so the message was lost.
Also, since none of us were either jewish or muslim, we worried that we might be misunderstood or culturally insensitive by seeming to lean towards or represent one culture/religion over another...
there was none of that.
It was just supposed to be a beautiful woman representing both beautiful cultures, beautifully. Harmoniously.
And possibly, with a little edge, in a sort of flirtatious and sexy way.
Anyways, several photoshop variations later, voila.
Sans religious or cultural reference, and one of my favorite photos ever.
Maybe I thought there was still a hint of something else in it that you picked up on, but nobody else has said anything about it either, so whatever.
Just me being prejudiced again.
Kidding.
