Description Sometimes when you take a break to refresh, you get a certain grove back at some point. Anyway, this is almost one o' them groves. I penciled it first before lining it in SAI. I know I said I struggle with line-art, and I do, but I lucked out on this one.

I wanted to draw some DA peeps doing something fun and so why not a DANCE PARTY YEAH! [link] "Hey laaaaadies!"
So here are some of my fellow deviants that I know. There are some you may recognize and others that are less known. By the way, though I need to keep trying, I can't dance. Or rather I can, but it would look like this. [link] See if you recognize yourself of others.

Also, brownie points to those that get the 90's cartoon reference.

Maybe I'll color it, but A. I'm feeling lazy, and B. I don't want to push my drawing streak to the breaking point. If any of you want to color it, go ahead.

Shoot I think deviantart glitched, I just realized the comment I made didn't send properly OTZ or maybe it didn't. Sorry if you get a duplicate comment D:

This is brilliant!!! Really REALLY cool Matt. All the poses!! These dances ahhhh. You did such an amazing job, it's incredible!! I usually find drawing such dynamic poses like these really difficult, but you make it look easy!! xD Fantastic job

Also ohmygod xD
Pffffttttt Johnny is Johnny Bravo!! Or well... Doing his dance hehe
I first notice the shades and the pose and thought to myself "hey, that really reminds me of Johnny Bravo" And then I realized it was Johnny so I started laughing XD

It was a duplicate, but that's ok. 8)

Anyway, thanks so much! If there is any type of activity to watch (or do) to really get some dynamic poses, it's dancing. I love watching people dance though I think I lucked out drawing them. It IS really hard, after all, and a couple aren't as great as I'd hoped. Just challenge yourself with poses. You'll get better. C8

I know right! I thought Johnny Bravo's infamous "the Monkey" was the dance that fit him the best and I of course had to draw him like Johnny Bravo. It made me laugh drawing it too. (though honestly, that dance for some reason was really hard for me to draw) Glad you got the reference, haha! XD

This is really, REALLY cool Matt. You did an amazing job with the proportions. I always find it's difficult drawing such dynamic poses like these... But you managed to make it look easy!! xD I love this picture, it's incredible! Fantastic job on everyone.
Also oh my god xD
Johnny is Johnny Bravo!! DD Or well, doing his dance :3
It's kinda funny, I first noticed the shades, then the pose and thought "wow that really reminds me of Johnny Bravo" Then I realized it was Johnny and I started laughing xD

You know that thing where someone says their art is so bad and you glare at them because it is still superior to your own? Yeah...doing that to you now
Really nice poses, smooth lines, and very happy looking people!

mordacaiMT In reply to SuperferretIX [2012-05-15 02:15:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know.....it's just that an artist is his/her own worst critic when they constantly see people better than them. I know, I make the same face when i hear others say that.

But thanks. I appreciate it. It was fun! Maybe I'll do a few more dancing poses. If I did, would you want to be included? If so, what dance?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SuperferretIX In reply to mordacaiMT [2012-05-16 22:17:59 +0000 UTC]

Mmm...I guess that's true...although I can be, on occasion, satisfied with something I've created...I don't see that our artistic standards are too high, it only has to be perfect afterall XP

Being included would be awesome
I don't really know any dance moves, but anything with spinning would be amusing, then I could kill people with my plait XP

mordacaiMT In reply to SuperferretIX [2012-05-17 22:22:47 +0000 UTC]

Pfft. Yeah. ONLY perfect.

Alright, gotcha! And I'll try to make your plait appropriately long this time.

I'm glad you like it, man. Even if you don't wear ties and suspenders I thought it might be your style anyway. The poses and outfits were a blast to draw. And yeah, everybody loves the monkey.

Gee, thanks Scotty! Um....yeeaah. It is you. I don't think I got you very accurately though. Of course I had to include you when doing a dancing drawing. In hindsight, it probably isn't that easy to dance in a pea coat.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MustacheElm In reply to mordacaiMT [2012-05-03 18:56:37 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha, it actually isn't too hard if the coat is light enough fabric. I love the dynamic motion you have going on in all these! I can definitely see them all moving.

Yesssss. One of my friends is nicknamed "Johnny Whoa" so him as Johnny Bravo was the next logical step. Awesome nostalgia.

By the way, I checked out the AFK Tavern in Everett. Is that where you recommended? It's pretty cool.

Here's hoping I can get off my butt and do it I've been busy getting back into the swing of home life and applying everywhere that I've gotten a bit lazy. Hopefully things are going alright with you man.

mordacaiMT In reply to Sir-Jude [2012-05-02 18:27:00 +0000 UTC]

I've been doing alright, but like you, I need to get into the swing of everyday life before I can dedicate much of my time to drawing, again. Applying like a fiend myself. I feel you there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sir-Jude In reply to mordacaiMT [2012-05-02 18:34:11 +0000 UTC]

Well here's hoping that you have an easy time getting back into the normal swing. YOu've deserved a break from all this.

And yeah, you got all the ones you probably could get. The ones are the far right are people I know in Seattle that are on DA. They don't post that much at all.
