A miniature mountain landscape I'm doing for my sculpture class, My first time working with soapstone and in reality this will probably just turn into a practice piece but either way I'm happy with how its coming.

The things that still need to be done starting from front to back:

Carve out more space in the front to make it seem like the mountains drop into a river or valley. Already started along the left hand side on that.

Finish the mountain tops, round out the leftmost one, and carve out some more space between the other to while making the right most one more pointed.

work on some of the defining lines on the faces of the mountains and some of the angles.

and chop off around 1/3" on the bottom of the base.

Either way I anticipate maybe another 2 hours tops on this one before i begin another soapstone piece
