After the war with the undead, Daenarys Targaryen receives a raven from none other than Harry Strickland - the leader of the Golden Company.

And inside this message was a particular passage: "You have friends in Westeros, Your Grace. When you march on King's Landing, you will find yourself in a long winding siege. Or open gates."

Thus, the Golden Company struck when the castle slept ringing the words of Renly Baratheon's warning to Eddard Stark. "Strike. When the castle sleeps."
