Description Spearheading the assault on the infected is Omega Squad, a group of Commandos that we picked up on Coruscant during the height of Order 66. They did not comply with the order, and were about to evacuate to Mandalore - we offered them a safe haven with the Terrans and they readily accepted. Under local guidance, they have proven effective against the mindless zombies that our boys have named the infected. I could not believe that they were all humans once, the result of the Covenants' glassing of the planet during the war. Now they roam the streets and subway systems, they do not seem to feel hunger and often go into a hibernation-like state, lying on the ground indefinitely until disturbed by movement or noise. We have also gathered information that these feral creatures are not only extremely resistant to radiation, they are actually healed by it - drawn to it even. There's a reason why General Tano ordered our weapons to be closely guarded at all times.

While being mindless crazies, these infected are not to be trifled with. I have compiled a list of information for the troops: Upon detection, most infected will make a high-pitched screech hence attracting the swarm to their location. Upon sighting, they will often scream once more. There is no rank or pecking order to these attacks, all attack at the same time in a rampant onslaught. Because of this, we have lost six joint-combat patrols in enclosed areas, mostly being overwhelmed. The wounds on the dead shows scratches deep into the skin, even our armour is useless against the insane fury of the infected. Rex thinks they're adapting to our presence, at first they seem to cower and flee at the sounds of our blasters going off. He thinks the infected have some form of intelligence. I think this may simply be a form of survival instinct or self-preservation. We may have to study their actions carefully, perhaps capturing one would be the best ideal.
