Another background for in the game. I cant resist showing you good folk, even though I should wait and let it all be a surprise...But heck, maybe more of you will want to play the game once you've seen these sneek peeks..
We may not be able to completely finish by the deadline as we had a late start, but we are going to try. We're all willing to keep working on it after the competition either way.

Nah, Im no pro, but thanks for thinking so. If you're refering to the part I said about the game, there is a 72hr gamedev competition I try to participate in every year. Unfortunatly this year we didnt get the game done for various reasons, so thats the last anyone will see of it.

Just PSP and the allmighty size-1 pencil tool. Occasionally the fill tool as well, but I digress...

A very impressive pixelation indeed. You have used a surprisingly low colour amount here too, which makes it even better.
I particularly enjoy the style you have used in here. It looks like it was painted with watercolours, which for backgrounds is a very interesting style to use. I think it will work just fine.
However, there is one little thing that's bothering me here, and it is those green plants in the middle of the scene (the ones near the stones bordering that little body of water). The reason is that the greens you have used are a tad too saturated in my opinion. When looking back and forth for some amount of time, I have the feeling that they look a bit out of the place. I don't know, perhaps painting them with the same tones you used in that bush at the right side of the image would produce a better result. Also, darkening the ground a little bit around them (a few grow in bright brown ground, which does that annoying "floating" effect shadow-less objects do on backgrounds).
