Description About 15 years ago, when I was a kid and there were no comics in my country, one of our TV channels bought and broadcasted The X-Men animated series and, of course, Rogue was one of the main characters (though I didn't know the original name, just the translation; it took me some time to figure out who was that Mari girl in the first X-Men movie). I liked the character immediately, mostly because of the looks, to be honest ^^. I've learned more about her when I've watched a couple of X-Men Evolution episodes (and I've finally found out what her mutant power is). Somehow, despite I knew almost nothing about her, Rogue have become one of my favorite female characters.

*I sound like an old lady speaking about the days when she was young and the grass was greener, the sky bluer, the taxes lower and the sun brighter... Or like a first-grader writing an essay titled "My favorite ". I'm not sure which is worse.*

So, this is another of my stunning pieces of art *sarcasm mode on*, done to be printed (personal use only, of course). I still have little skill, can't color anything properly, draw astonishingly bad hands and backgrounds. But, well, I'm working on it . Someday I'll be able to say that my art is good (either because it'll be good, or because I'll think that my art is good). Man, I sound like an old crone again! What's wrong with me today?..

Anyway, I might draw some other Marvel characters as well (while I'm waiting for inspiration to continue the Llama series).

Sorry for my English (: And for that wall of text.

OMG! I have read all your comments. LOL with everything.
I agree with the misspeled part so badly, I mean, try to do cosplay of Rogue in Argentina and youll see. I did, and I have been called Rogue and Titania (those are okay, one is the correct one and the other the translation of the character's name in the tv series from the '90s) but also Rouge and I don't remember what else because I didn't understand how they found the way to turn Rogue on what they where calling me.
I'm writing to much, right?
Well, I like your drawing, it is very cool. And, if you let me, I'll do the photo version (like I said, I do cosplay) and share it with you.

Sorry for my English (I know is too basic yet).

I enjoyed your rambling comment lol, in my country she was called "Titania" and she could fly. She was always one of my favorites, such a strong power yet such a lonely life.

The picture is quite good; you just have to be a little bit more careful with the proportion of the eyes and fingers. I will be waiting for more Marvel characters

I've seen a beautiful picture of Rogue on DA titled Titania, it's Spanish, right? As far as I know she could fly while she had Ms. Marvel's powers and then Sunfire's (ok, hello, my thick volumes of classic literature, I'm going all nerd and too-intelligent-to-socialize again ).

Ah, the proportions... I never get them right, whether I use a mirror, a photo or try to measure them with a ruler, on paper or digitally... It's a curse. Cured only by drawing bust of Socrates two thousand times and then Michelangelo's David another five thousand. But first I'll finish with the X-Men and Llamas, disproportional or not. *evil laughter*

DearSnuffles In reply to Morgensterna [2010-07-12 21:59:42 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it's indeed in Spanish. Hehehe and you're right that was why she could fly... I didn't remember why and it bothered me a bit in evolutions and in the movie, but now you cleared that up

And yes, proportions are a bitch! And more in humans...hahaha, never the less, practice makes perfect, whether it’s Michelangelo’s David what you're drawing or Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Jean... So keep polishing that diamond, and by the way I loved the ninja llama, way to go!! Good sense of anatomy and good combination of the two (ninja and llama)... really outstanding!

Hehe, I'm good at remembering tons of (useless) facts

Thank you again , I think I'll try super llamas now or may be some painting... Anyway, I'll practice anatomy and proportions!

You're welcome! And yep, I did read it Btw how was Rogue called in your country? I watched the first X-Men cartoon in my early kindergarden years and I don't really remember well how they called her in my country, so I'm curious about other countries ... I think that was confusing.. what was I talking about again? =/ ...

They translated her as Shelma ("шСльма", say hello to Cyrillic ), basically means rogue, plus in Russian nouns have grammatical gender and Shelma is feminine, so that was a good translation Though in Evolution and Wolverine and the X-men they called her Rouge, like in Moulin Rouge... Man, I so wanted to find the idiot who suggested that translation and hit them in the head with an English-Russian, an English-English and a Russian-Russian dictionaries! (That wound be about 3 lbs of pure paper and righteous rage. Or even 4 lbs, I'd have taken hardcovers) But, well, who needs translations anyway ^^

And being both a Grammar Nazi (though I fail to be one when I speak English) and a wannabe translator (yes, I have studied ) I can't help writing a short essay on translation whenever an opportunity presents itself .

Yeah, I've heard Rogue beeing adressed as R-o-u-g-e so many times I'm tired of it too.. and I'm angry about it, after all she's not a lipstick colour someone here on deviantart once called Rogue the mutant with the.... most often misspelled name ever

And cool, a translator! You mean like to translate books and stuff? That's pretty cool
And hehe, you write good essays ;]
You're from Russia? I'm from Bulgaria (but I live in Austria for the moment )!! We also use the Cyrillic alphabet!!

I'm starting to think "rogue" is the most misspelled word ever...

Yeah, a translator... Now the hard part - to get a job, but, well, that's a common problem ^^.
Thanks for the compliment though

Oh, I've seen some Bulgarian texts in Cyrillic, tried to read and understand them but that's impossible without a dictionary

Yep, it's definitely one of the most misspeled words. =]

And you're welcome! I hope you can get a job asap =]

I sometimes understand when I read Russian.. but only sometimes I think sabaka (sobaka? собака?) is the word for dog, right? :]

I also hope so

And yes, собака (transliterated "sobaka" and reads "sabaka", crazy Russian language) is for dog, that's right
