I'm The AVATAR and you gotta DEAL WITH IT!I didn't realize it, but Korra's gesture could also mean rock on. LOL. This was my favorite moment in the first episode, and I watched it over and over again because it just doesn't get old.
I think Bei Fong's reaction to Korra was even funnier.

I think this piece of art is really well done.
I really like the technique (/colouring/) because in my opinion it intensifies the roughness of the look and the moment.
I also loved this part of the episode haha : ) !
However, the eyes do not look closed, this is really the only downside I see, although it is not too important.
What I liked the most of this is that you were perfectly able to imitate or recreate the perfect blend of the western and eastern type of art, (manga and western cartoon?) a blend that is exactly Avatar's style! Good job!

You've done a very good job but I can't focus on the goods if you want to "get better" can I?
The anatomy for the piece was well done although the neck could be fixed.
Also, the eyes don't look "closed" if you're trying to make it look that way. They look sort of open but if you're going for that look, i suggest faint whites and a pupil.
The background was well done though, giving the character the focus you want, though.
This piece was VERY well done, though! Don't get down because of minor mistakes ~

This piece captures the character well; it has a very pronounced and rough look. The background make it look a bit unfocused, as if she isn't really pointing at someone, but just making a quick pose.
Props on the lines used in the hair especially. The amount of detail in the top versus the bottom seems unbalanced. Maybe if you added the other hand into the picture you could produce more expression.
Lastly, the face seems odd, a little alien. I suggest using some white in the eyes, or adding more natural lines to give the face expression.

In the latest weeks, I've noticed this has maybe become a meme of sorts, and I've seen multiple versions of this drawing, but THIS is probably the best one I've seen.
Her attitude is expressed better than on the show itself, and the strokes are brilliantly colored, including the background.
The thing I love most is the signature on the arm, though. It's so original.
I have to admit, I love this avatar, and I've seen dozens of pieces of Artwork about her, but this is one of my absolute favorites, so great job, and all the views on this are well deserved!

Really excellent job! There are some great compositional choices here, most notably with the choice of pose, using great angles to accentuate Korra's attitude. Way too often I think people default to having the figure go straight up and down and seem to avoid the possibilities that exist with 45 degree angles.
In turn, that further helps guide the eye across the entire picture very well.
Anatomically there's very little to nit-pick, but I suppose the curve of the neck line could be slightly more pronounced, just to add to/boost even more energy into the pose.
The background choice is all right with the broad brush strokes reinforcing the angular design, but the splotches of paint on the right seem to distract, or only exist to fill in space. Perhaps a color that receded into the background more would might have made the whole thing 'pop' a little more.
All-in-all, these are minor quibbles. This is a very well done piece you should be proud of.
