I suppose you all had it coming. How can I not eventually post a photo depicting the wildebeests crossing the iconic Mara river? This one is certainly not a unique photo of the spectacle, but I liked the drama and the mood here...enhanced of course by a monochrome conversion that took me some time to get all the elements and tonalities just right.For more info behind the making of this photo, including technical settings, check out this post on my blog: nblo.gs/PNdre

This is one of my favorite subjects - the wildebeest has long beenΒ anΒ examplar for my life. For the sheer courage needed for the plunge and the tenacity of these noble beasts when trying to get up the bank on the other side when it's all wet and muddy.
