Description This pic took me a bit of time to process. Though the primary lightning bolt faded below my lens, I really wanted to retrieve as much of the shot as I could. The original shot was so over-exposed by the lightning, I had to bring the exposure level all the way down -4 stops. Using additional filters saved the shot--despite most of the bolt being lost. What I appreciated most about the shot and why I wanted to save it, was because of the clouds themselves. The lightning literally opened a hole in the sky in a vortex, whisping around downward with the stroke. It was impressive to see it unfold when I was shooting. The storm was quite intimidating but I love shooting these types of shots. I know the shot has many flaws, but if anything, it captured the story what was happening overhead.

I hope you enjoy it and thanks for viewing.
