With the new Combat Update, Bishop class was refitted with 4 rapid fire long range triple cannons and an array of point defense chainguns. he kept her standard 12 laser fighter squadron. Currently four ship of this class is in operation, Bishop, Templar, Chevalier and Curiosity II.

Despite her armour and attack capability, she is quite vulnerable due to her low maneuverability and speed and often her defense grid is overwhelmed with concentrated assault. This weakness resulted the loss of Templar which came under concentrated fire and torpedoes attack from over 20 pirate ships.

The loss of Templar prompted the design of dedicated escort ship which result the birth of Trebuchet class Destroyer.
