A sprite sheet I made YEEEAAARRRSSS ago for some guy as a request on a forum I went to (and still do, in fact). Like... back in 2006 or something. Basically, it was a request to make Mega Man X, but with Sonic's head or something of the sort. Which is like, really easy to do (at least it was for me). I had fun doing it though and expanded on the initial request out of fun. The sword is fully original, made from scratch (ie. "from nothing"), hence why it looks so crappy. In the two images right before it fully appears in the top right corner it is supposed to slowly fade into existence, but it is a little too light to see.And of course, in good Mega Man fashion, he can get multiple powers. And, in good Sonic fashion, those are derived from the Chaos Emeralds.
This was made in 16-bit using sprites taken from... I think Sprites Inc. for Sonic and... I forgot where for Mega Man X's.
Btw, for those not "in the know":

Is it possible to be utterly dissappointed and happy at the same time? cause I am right now. On one hand, I see this smexy sprite sheet. (Sonic and Megaman, who'da thunk it?) But on the other hand, I clicked this expcting to see sprites based on the "Sonic X" anime...
You're really creative to come up with somehting like this. I would suggest going with the Sonic Advance style Chaos emeralds, though. Less bulky.
And maybe have a Super Sonic X? Just sayin.

Heh, I do that sometimes. The choice of names I have tends to be as such that in a way it is ironic, but it may disappoint someone due to not being what they expected to see. I don't think I will make sprites based off the anime, since one could prettymuch use sprites from the games for that.
Since most Sonic games I have played have been three-dimensional, I don't quite exactly recall how the emeralds looked like in all their sprited incarnations, but I will look into that.
Super Sonic X sounds like a swell idea! I will look into the matter and perhaps in a week or two you will see something of the sort up here.

Yeah, I suppose you could use sprites from the games, as there is little differnce between them and the anime. But still, one can dream. With all the creative minds out there, someone would have been able to come up with something. And I'm just a uberfan who loves everything related to sonic, so whatever... >.> lol
The advance style emeralds are much smaller than what you were using, but are not lacking in detail in the least. Truthfully, they'd be proportionate to your X character, instead of those giant hunk of gem. Seriously, how would he carry them around?
