Part of my Steampunk or Historical Stock series - This is a very antique carder - originally a steam-powered method of preparing wool for use as a textile. A boiler would run maybe 20 of these in a line (Sources vary on how many were set up in line like this so my number may be way off).

This one made a journey worthy of a movie - starting in the UK then traveling to New York, then Seattle, to who knows where. My neighbors acquired it to card wool from their sheep and is now powered by an electric motor. Full permission granted for use.
