well decided to take a break from my inking and for some reason it struck me to color this piece which i've had in my backlog files since forever. so i started.initially i wanted to color her hair silver, but blacks, silvers and whites are problamatic and she kinda' ended up looking like a brunette with this color set, which i don't mind. i think she looks good that way. and though the fire backgrounds are always tedious they always seem to have a nice end result too. anyways the character here is an oc of named chloey the silent, drawn up awhile back by

Hmm, the hair seems a bit dark for a Claymore, especially in the front.
Overall composition is pretty solid, the emphasis is definitely where it should be, but the sword and the pose are a little understated-- a lower angle for the sword and more of a tilt to the hips and especially the shoulders would make it more visually interesting. You have good shading technique, but consistent lighting would probably help, especially on the face. I recognize some of Yagi's stylistic elements there, but the eyes look a bit disconnected, as if they were painted over the real face, and the dark shadow is rather odd (lighting consistency again).
I do like the way you rendered the metal elements, and I like the details added to her design-- the skirt, pendant, etc. Also, the texture marks on the limbs and body are really nice.

the lineart to this one isn't my own, but that of bmesias. thank you, however; on your critique of my colors. i still have plenty of learning to do on them but i think i'm coming along if albeit a bit slowly

yeah, i'd initially been going for silver with the fire reflection but it came out looking more brown and i couldn't correct it. i tried to go for blonde but the blonde just looked ugly so i left it brunette instead rather then make it feel off and ugly with trying to correct the silver or turning it blonde. ^^
