Seth MacFarlane's first short film and his thesis film "The Life of Larry".

Here we see the whole family which is a early version of Family Guy.

The Life of Larry is a 1995 animated film. The film was directed by Seth MacFarlane, and stars MacFarlane as the majority of the characters, as well as brief appearances from American politician Newt Gingrich in the form of a cutaway, and fellow student Chang S. Han. The short features a middle-aged slob named Larry Cummings, his cynical talking dog, Steve, supportive wife Lois, and pudgy teenage son Milt. The film also features a live-action segment shot at MacFarlane's home in Kent, Connecticut where he briefly describes the film and its characters in the form of a pitch to a television network.

The Life of Larry was created as MacFarlane's thesis film during 1994 and 1995, while he was studying at the Rhode Island School of Design. The animated film was created almost entirely by MacFarlane alone. The exception being the live action sequence, which was filmed by classmates Sean Leahy and Greg Scalzo.

Following the completion of the short and screenings at the school's Senior film festival, MacFarlane's professor at RISD submitted his cartoon to Hanna-Barbera, where he was later hired. This led to MacFarlane creating a sequel to The Life of Larry called Larry and Steve in 1996, which starred Larry once more as well as his intellectual dog, Steve. This short was broadcast as one of Cartoon Network's World Premiere Toons.
