— Elijah is a medium-class member of the Raven Society, an organization with the goal to admonish the Corruption. Each Raven Society member can be distinguished by their raven emblem and modernized plague doctor mask, differentiating them from the everyday people.
His creation has been considered a bad omen to the Society, formed from the Corruption itself. His body is made completely of the Corruption, a dark purplish smoke entity that is toxic to anyone who touches it. The Society couldn't kill him despite their efforts, so he was studied. Upon the discovery that he was sentient, came the tutoring lessons. He was taught by humans how to be human, and so he learned to mimic them. That was about 5 years ago, and now works as a detective in the Raven Society, collaborating with police on both supernatural and natural cases.
