yes, this is Watcher. And he's Mooni's dad.
Cursed to be an ugly beast for the rest of his life, his original physical form is no more- but, the humming of a familiar tune can give Watcher his conscience back, even for a little bit, and parts of his body can/may shift back as well.

I've actually been holding back on spilling Watcher's story for a while now, particularly because I wanted him to be a mystery (and because I hadn't fully put the pieces together yet).
So-
Mooni is actually not fully Ornithrean like many once thought. He comes from a line of a magic-derived subspecies called the Maguš (mag-ush), having similar Ornithrean features. The Maguš are shepherds of magic in Eden, being able to direct and control it at free will.
Mooni's mother was Paxean, hence why Mooni has a halo of his own, but his lack of two eyes comes from being half Maguš.

Watcher speaks the dead language of Eden, considering as he actually is an ancient being. Surprisingly, Mooni can understand him just fine. Maguš age much slower than normal ornithreans, and this is why Mooni still appears as a kid even though he's lived thousands of lifetimes. He's older than Aris- and that's saying a lot
