Description My first ever upload

I have drawn inspiration from various videos games such as Final Fantasy, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry 4 and whatever games feature swords

From left to right

1) Futuristic Katana, designed for quick slash action

2) One-handed broadsword

3) Lion's Wrath, based on the larger blades from the Final Fantasy series

4) Blade of the Angels, the blade has been inscribed with markings only angelic beings can understand. The hilt may only fit one hand as a test of strength

5) Wo Dao, curved hilt reminiscent of Count Dooku's lightsaber from Star Wars

6) Two-handed blade, based on Ike's Ragnell from Fire Emblem except for the hilt, which takes on a spider-like appearance

This is very cool!

I would love to have a Wo Dao sword as I really like Count Dooku's lightsaber!

Nice work and great details. Maybe you should try a little more shading? But good nonetheless

Gotta go with number 1, classic katana design, nice tsuka too.

I'm definitely most intrigued by #2-4: #2 has cool gemstone work and incorperates a feel of both ancient and future. #3 is really cool in that its just so clean cut and has cool detailing on the sword. #4, love the fact that the hilt resembles an angel's wing. #1 and #6 are both respectively cool, but just not as interesting. #5 has a problem in that the hilt, in my opinion, look a bit too similar to Dooku's hilt. Maybe consider editing it to where it doesn't look as futuristic? All in all, a nice set of swords. You should give a shot at coloring 'em! Bet they would look even more dynamic.

Very nice, this is good not only for practice but for self reference as well.. I used to draw swords like this when I was younger all the time. This pictures shows that you have a great deal of skill and love to pay attention to detail, Thanks for sharing this!

Nice detailing! Especially on the handles. I recognise the final fantasy one, as I used to play final fantasy 9.. i think it's from that game.

first thing I think you should do is number them.
that way it's easier for people to put a label to the sword they like, "Example.. I like #2, it has a really awesome grip design that's very unique."

when designing the handle, I like to imagine how I would hold/wield the sword.
that way I notice things like, is the hilt design going to stab my hand, or is the hand guard too close to the handle making it too small of an opening for my fingers to get through. stuff like that.
most of all, have fun with your designs.

Hi there and welcome to DA!
Nice blades you have there.

Some tips that might help you:
- establish a lightsource
- try to keep your lines clean and shading uniform
- don't make hairy lines: erase parts that come out of line
- Try to use some line variation, for example: sharp or lit fragments like the cutting edge of a sword should have lighter, thinner lines, than the part of a handle being in shade.
- before drawing a symmetrical sword draw lightly a line with a ruler, which will be your symmetry line. Use it as a guide and erase it afterwards.

Keep working and upload some more
