Having Batman rather than a whichever other superhero makes the joke so much more funny: superman simply wouldnβt work as goodβ¦
If I recall corretly there was a short and higly amusig dissertation about the pointlessness and danger in wearing a cape even in the film "The Incredibles".

Yea I always wondered why the wind always blew just right for superheros.. but not for me when I've spent an hour doing my hair. Batman deserves that..... grrr

Agreed. Actually I think it softens his look... although he does use it in some cases, for the most part it's useless. He'd look tougher without one
