Every year, I watch the Star of Bethlehem, a presentation by Rick Larson that takes an in-depth look at a celestial poem God put in the stars to announce the birth and death of His Son. This is the constellation of Leo, with a ribbon embroidered with a laurel branch (representing royalty) and the sign of Jupiter. The ribbon passes by Regulus, the star at the lion's chest, three times, representing the triple conjunction between Jupiter and Regulus that began on Rosh Hashana in 2 BC. This is the event that caught the attention of the Magi, and is the most likely date of Jesus' birth.
