Haha... I was thinking the same thing when I was taking the shots. If you could face the other direction in the photo, you would see a mile of "rock dunes". It is a really unique spot.

California, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mtns. Our winter storms are generally very mild, but very photogenic. Now, our summer storms on the other hand...

yup! Three days starting friday. I have a friend who is working a fire lookout right now, so I think I am going to make my way up that direction. We might get a little snow and lighting hopefully, the clouds are always the best when those odd storms come in.
