Full-view, please!I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to upload new art & written works, & I have not forgotten about that. It's just that I have LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of stuff I've drawn & written over the last 8 years--even earlier than that, in fact!--& it's gonna take me quite a while to upload every picture & piece of literature. Just be patient, folks, & my gallery will be chock-full of new stuff before you know it!
In the meantime...here's a little something to hold you over 'til then!
OK, so if you can't tell from my recent pictures of my new GMD fanfic character Frankie Saturn...I have officially fallen in love with the band Queen! ^_^ Truth be told, I've always enjoyed their music, but I didn't become obsessed with them--not the way I am with Prince--until a couple of years ago. My viewing of last year's Freddie Mercury biopic, "Bohemian Rhapsody", turned that obsession into an utter infatuation, & I now count Queen among my top 10 favorite musical groups!
A couple of months ago, I was inspired to make a Disney-style portrait of Freddie Mercury, all colored in digital pastels! ^_^ I drew Freddie in his famous yellow jacket as the centerpiece; for the background, I made rainbow bars to symbolize Freddie's status as a GLBT icon, & his own bisexuality. And, finally, I drew his signature in the corner to make it look like he autographed the picture himself.
As always, my art continues to ever improve! Look at my better sense of body proportions, for instance--all those art & animation lessons I'm taking at Houston's Nonpareil Institute are paying off big-time! I'm so very pleased & proud of this work, & at how far I've come as an artist... This may very well be one of my all-time artistic masterpieces!
So, what do you think of the picture, everyone? Do tell me your thoughts!

Firstly, I really like what you did with the style of Freddie. It's really cool and it certainly brings a cartoonish take on the legendary singer himself. Also the background looks really beautiful, with the rainbow style.
I however... do kinda have some problems with this drawing.
Firstly, the anatomy. Now I sometimes struggle with anatomy too, so you're not alone on this, but I think the shoulders are the biggest problem. They seem way too big. It seems.. a bit off. I get that it's your own style, but maybe downsize the shoulders a bit.
Next, the hair on Freddie's chest. I know that the actual Freddie Mercury did have a lot of chest hair, but it seems like you went a lil bit overboard on the hair. Personally, I think maybe instead of using the paintbrush, use maybe the tool you draw with, and make tiny hairs on his chest. It might be a lil time consuming, but it'll certainly pay off!
And finally, and this is a lil short, but the nose seems a bit wonkey. Again, this is something I'm guilty of, since my noses aren't great either, but yeah, maybe fix up his nose a lil bit, and it'll be just fine. ^^
I can see you definitely have the potential to be good at drawing, but you might have to do just a little bit of work.
