Latin name: Cebus Capucinus
Originates from the extreme eastern portion Panama and the extreme north-western portion of South America in western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador.
Current status: Vulnerable

…They are also commonly named Colombian White-Headed Capuchin and Colombian White-Throated Capuchin.
…All members of the genus Cebus are named Capuchins after the Capuchin friars; the cowls of these friars closely resemble the Monkey’s head coloration.
…They are New World Monkeys, relatively small in size with a slender body. Males are larger and heavier than females, and also have a longer tail.
…All Capuchins are highly intelligent – they have been observed using tools to open nuts, and those native to Costa Rica have been seen rubbing themselves with medicinal and insect-repellant plants.
…Sadly, despite them being considered Vulnerable and thus Endanged by the IUCN, they are often kept as pets and in the entertainment industry to perform tricks on screen.
