Circling around the zookeeper holding the Snake, we found this stunning natural background provided by another terrarium

Species: Royal or Ball Python (Koningspython)

Latin name: Python Regius

Originates from west and central Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

…The Royal Python is also called “Ball Python” due to its tendency to curl itself up into a ball when stressed or frightened.

…This nonvenomous constrictor is the smallest of African Pythons, growing to a maximum size of 182 cm/ 72 in/ 6 ft.

…They are widely distributed, and not considered threatened. However, they are hunted for their meat and the exotic pet trade as it is the most popular pet Snake in the world.
