While we were petsetting for our sister, we took the opportunity to visit a couple zoos with a discount. One, we'd never been to before, the other one had been a few years but now we had good reason to go there, namely a young Pallas's Cat. You don't see them very often in zoos anymore, and well, a baby is just too precous to pass up
This is Loesje - with the backend of her mom - a female born in April, which makes her 8-12 weeks old in this photo, when we saw her. She's very popular amongst photographers, but the Pallas's Cat enclosure is rather tricky to photograph (2 glass windows, a little bit of wire fence with bushes in front) and other photographers were pretty much hogging the best window. We took advantage of the other, empty window only to find out during out 4th trip to see Loesje, that we were lookin through 2 sets of glass - through their indoor, to the outdoor enclosure...
Since we've learned to circle back time and time again to see the animals we came for, we've managed to see and photograph Loesje and her Mom during different moments of the day, so we have quite some photos to share with you. Hopefully, you fall as much in love with her as we have

Latin name: Otocolobus Manul syn. Felis Manul

Originates from Central Asia.

Current status: Near Threatened
