Never before have I seen a Griffon Vulture Chick.To imagine, I might not have even seen it if I had stuck to the path set out, since it wasn't in it's normal habitat with all the other Griffon Vultures.
No, the chick and his parents were set between the Tapirs and the Marabou Stork.
There wasn't even a "shield" to keep them in, as if the mere presence of the fragile chick would keep them to the ground.
He was so adorable, though you might not make that out from a plucked naked scavenger.
Made it in April, 2012 @ Zoo Duisburg, Germany

They rank very high on my list too, but I always find it very hard to choose just one favorite
Personally, I like Barn Owls a lot too, and I've only seen the Black-Chested Buzzard Eagle a couple of times, and that's pretty gorgeous. The Harpey Eagle just once, and I love that one too

I don't think zoos in the states are keen about breeding vultures, save for the California condor but that breeding is usually done privately.

I'd certainly recommend it
But if you could squeeze in a visit to Germany, I'd certainly pair it off with a visit to Zoo Wuppertal, which I believe has some baby animals around now too
