Description
When: April 11, 2019
Where: Faunapark Flakkee Nieuwe-Tonge, the Netherlands
That moment when a Duck decides to change things up and flap her wings. This is probably one of my favorite Ducks that belong in the zoo (they also have some wild ones who've decided to make the zoo their home).
Species: Mallard or Wild Duck (Wilde eend)
Latin name: Anas Platyrhynchos
Originates from the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand and Australia.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…Male Mallards are called “drakes”.
