Where: Het Groot Goor, The Netherlands

We went a little crazy when we saw two Mama Ducks with each 5 Ducklings at the park near our home We spend a lot of time enjoying them (we brought our cameras because we knew they were there, it was just hoping we'd also see them) and the moment when one of the Duck families came out of the water to start grooming we snapped a lot more photos. We could get the angle just right, to capture these sweethearts doing what they do best - be adorable

Species: Mallard or Wild Duck (Wilde eend)

Latin name: Anas Platyrhynchos

Originates from the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand and Australia.

Current status: Least Concern
