Description Photo taken in March, 2014 @ Koninklijke Burgers' Zoo, The Netherlands

Just before we left, the sun shone finally shone down after a more than dreary day, bathing mother Cheetah in the rays of light.
Personally, I think this could be one of the best photos I've taken of a Cheetah

Species: Cheetah (Jachtluipaard)

Latin name: Acinonyx Jubatus

Originates from Africa and the Middle East.

Current status: Vulnerable

 Did you know:

…The Cheetah can clock in to 112 to 120 km/h (70 to 75 mph), making it the fasted land animal on the planet, covering 500 meters (1,600 ft) in short burst, and being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds.

…It is one of the few Felids with semi-retractable claws.

I agree!  One of the best cheetah shots that I've ever seen!  Frankly, I'm quite envious of you for it while at the same time so delighted for you that you got the shot!!!!  Man, what a great piece of work!  The lighting is absolutely perfect!!!!!  Clear and sharp too!

Excellent!

Lovely job! You got the light right in the eyes!  That's a gorgeous cheetah. I miss photographing them, the Philly Zoo where I used to go to photograph them but up some huge, ugly fence around the enclosure and now it's darned near impossible to even see them. I'm glad I have the picks that I do of them from older stuff!

Some enclosures are made in such ways, that it's become really hard to photograph them These cheetahs have a huge enclosure, and I was so, so very lucky that they remained still long enough to catch this photo.
And thanks, Ami, a compliment like that coming from you really means a lot
