Look at the shocked look on this adult's face If you think they're not too happy to have made eye-contact with an unwanted on-lookers, you'd be absolutely right. They're incredibly shy, something that's intuitively ingrained in them it seems as soon as they're a number of weeks to months old. The adventurous soul is still there, but they're so very alert of danger coming from above. And because their enclosure is built in a way that visitors look down upon them, they're more inclined to run and hide than stand their ground.

But this will be renewed too, so hoping for an enclosure befitting of their nature

Species: Common Dwarf Mongoose (Dwergmangoeste)

Latin name: Helogale Parvula

Originates from Southern Africa.

Current status: Least Concern
