Description
Photo taken in August, 2016 @ Olmense Zoo, Belgium
Visiting many zoos, means you often see the same species of animal a lot of different times. The fun part though? They're all unique individuals.
When you're used to an animal doing certain things in one zoo, doesn't meant the same kind of animal will follow the same pattern or behavior in a different zoo. Nor do they even have to look alike.
Most of the Cheetahs we come across have a golden hue to their fur. This one was positively pale, and incredibly slim. He made for quite the sight, to be honest. Especially those haunting eyes stay with you
Species: Cheetah (Jachtluipaard)
Latin name: Acinonyx Jubatus
Originates from Africa and the Middle East.
Current status: Vulnerable
Did you know:
…The Cheetah can clock in to 112 to 120 km/h (70 to 75 mph), making it the fasted land animal on the planet, covering 500 meters (1,600 ft) in short burst, and being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds.
…It is one of the few Felids with semi-retractable claws.
