Description
When: September 22, 2019
Where: Zooparc Overloon, the Netherlands
Even though it's a photo and a still moment, you can *almost* see the twitch of a dream, when you've entered REM-sleep.
Species: Crab-Eating Raccoon (Krabbenetende wasbeer)
Latin name: Procyon Cancrivorus
Originates from the marshy and jungle areas of Central and South America.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…The Crab-Eating Raccoon doesn’t have a strict diet of solely eating Crabs; in fact, the Common Raccoon will also seek out Crabs when available. However, the Crab-Eating Raccoon Is better adapted for a diet of hard-shelled food, sporting cheek teeth larger than that of the Common Raccoon, with broader and rounder cusps.
…While the Crab-Eating Raccoon might appear smaller and more streamlined than the Common Raccoon, due to its much shorter fur and slender built, they are actually of similar dimensions.
