Where: Dierenpark Zie-ZOO Volkel, the Netherlands

Even knowing they are, in fact, still there at two zoos we visit often, we rarely see these guys in either of them. Sometimes we'll sort of complain to each other about it, and then we suddenly notice them staring back at us Alas, it doesn't work every time.

Species: Siberian Weasel (Siberische wezel)

Latin name: Mustela Sibirica

Originates from Asia.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

…Siberian Weasels are widely distributed, so IUCN lists them as Least Concern. This doesn’t mean they are free from harm – their fur is very popular. They are not kept in furfarms, but hunted in the wild.
