I like the imposible wall angles,the blurring of the head shoulder and feet. It reminds me of peter howson in mood, if not in style

The angle to this, the way the staircases spiral downwards, the corner of a cold grey stone building forcing the eye to a certain space, the liquid dropping from his hands... these all seem to show transition and movement to me. I am curious as to what the ritual is though. A lovely painting that makes me really think about the symbolism in it which is quite rare.
