Description
Based off/Inspired 110% by *sakimichan 's recent Pocahontas piece.I really really needed to start doing some actual digital painting, so I figured I'd use it as reference and just see if I could do what she did. I think I did a decent job, at the very least for my first attempt. There wasn't even any underdrawing, which is really crazy for me.
The face ended up turning out kinda cute, which wasn't what I was originally going for, but at least it sets it apart. She looks much younger, and doesn't really look anything like Pocahontas, but oh well. She almost looks like Talim from Soul Calibur haha.
I'm definitely going to do a lot more of these. If I can get a style down consistently I'll be really happy, and will hopefully get better fast. If you guys have any ideas of who I should do next, let me know!

personally i like your pocahontas a lot. pocahontas technically in the time she met john smith was only about 10years old. this picture represents her youth and sparky personality super well! great job!

Pocahontas here looks a lot younger but it is still super cute! I think you did a wonderful job on making the picture come alive, with the sheen on her skin and the water droplets on her arms and in her hair. And the eyes are magnificent!! I always struggle with coloring eyes, I can never get the (what I think of as light bouncing off of a dew-drop) quality to them, which you have achieved, so definite thumbs up from me. (: Also, magnificent texturing! The skin looks velvety soft, the hair windblown yet still silky, and the fabric looks like real cloth (another struggling point for me). Excellent work overall, you have incredible talent!

It's cute and well done. But if you do more of these should try your own style and not someone elses don't you think. This so much reminds of sakimichan's style and copying it more than one time wouldn't feel alright.

I don't believe in comment necrophilia. If you said it once, you should stand behind it forever, unless you have been lead to feel differently--at which point, you should be mature enough to say so.

Like I said in the description, I used her Pocahontas as a test to see if I could actually do it, and I said it was based entirely off of sakimichan's work. I dont plan on referencing more of sakimichan's work because I know I'm able to do it now haha

Oh, wow...it does indeed look like Talim now that you mention it, but it really is a good depiction of Pocahontas. I really like the attention to detail here. Keep it up! (Faves and recommends)
