I finally did it! This is Selten, my pack elder. Her design was very fun to dream up, and I really like how she came out. Don't take those soft colors as a sign that she's gentle though, this gal was fierce back in her day.

Selten spent her immediate childhood in a ring full of canora that were gathered and even bred for the purpose of fighting. As such, when an escape was possible she took it, and aided a few others in escape as well. Selten has a very high mistrust and hostility towards humans, as well as for outcasts. She saw firsthand the damage that abuse and genetic tampering could cause, and can often sense the changes in an outcast before others can. She spent her adolescent days after the laboratory in the forest bordering the Crushskull Mountains, as the temperatures there were lower and allowed her to blend in with the lighter surroundings. Gradually, more canora escaped and they ventured farther inland as a group, settling in the woods and forming the main pack with who would become Kane's parents.

Selten enjoyed the luxury of having other canora to contribute, and found herself often in the role of stalker. This was often due to her known tenacity and ferocity in training, which was a direct result of conditioning from the laboratories where she was gradually being trained to be a glorified guard dog with lethal intent. She also shared this knowledge of hunting and combat maneuvers with the other canora as they grew closer, making sure everyone could fend for themselves if the time ever came when they would be on their own. Embracing the more inclusive mentoring role, Selten fancied her role in the pack even as she aged.

Into adulthood however, there was a rather troubling situation in the main pack, which had grown very large and details often got lost or ignored amongst the shuffle. Selten was confronted with a harsh reality when her best friend, Kane's mother, was viciously murdered. Nobody saw the bodies, but Selten made it her goal to find the one responsible. When her intuition and digging led her to Visha, she confronted Kane. He refused to banish Visha, so Selten took her children and close friends and made her own pack that took refuge across the river in the Plains of Demur. Here she now lives out her days as a continued mentor and leader of their smaller but resilient pack.

Positive Traits:
Selten is known for her regal and wise demeanor, and is generally understanding. She was raised with tough love, and that is often what she shows others in turn, as her own lessons had to be learned the hard way. Her advice is sound and she is fully aware of this fact, embracing it as a necessity in leading her pack. Selten is a very experienced canora in many environments, and until she reaches a more feeble point in her age she will continue being quite adaptable, however her fighting days are over unless the lives of those in her pack are threatened.

Negative Traits:
Selten's age has led her to be set in her ways, and not without good reason. This makes her very firm on several points, the first of which is getting rid of their corrupted counterparts. While her paws are firm and claws sharp, her wit is sharp and her words cutting. She is unabashed and blunt, which can make more sensitive canora feel rather annoyed and put off, but she gets along decently with everybody in her pack considering they all share the common philosophy. Selten can also be a bit controlling when it comes to the safety of her pack.

Likes:
Selten enjoys routine, making sure good habits are formed long before bad ones can take root. This routine keeps her mind organized and pack life amiable among all members. Out of the many foods they eat, Selten enjoys birds the most, and used to be the most skilled hunter for catching the wild fowl of many sorts. She takes joy in the simple things, appreciating them for what they are and what they could be more than for what they can offer her.

Dislikes:
Selten does not tolerate any form of deceit, which was a testing point in her parenting of Ath'iil. Lying or hiding information from her does not go over well, as she likes to keep progressing in their development. Selten also despises stagnation, which hinders growth and gathering experience. She recognizes that there are many things to be tried and discovered, and one cannot accomplish anything of the new sort when laying about doing nothing of use.

Parents are both assumed to be dead, as Selten was unable to take them with her during her escape (a fact that haunts her to this day).
