Description This is a regional map of Titan, Saturn's largest moon and possible home for alien life. It is one of the largest moons in the solar system, and holds by far the thickest atmosphere. Under the orange haze that surrounds it, there are many large lakes, rivers, and possibly seas of extremely cold liquid methane.
This is based on an original map by Peter Minton.

I wonder why they didn´t land at the lakes but at a random spot, or didn´t they know it before landing?

If I remember correctly, the only probe sent there was meant to take a few quick pictures and make some measurements. They were not quite sure what the surface was like, so it just randomly landed, though I don't think they expected there to be so much liquid methane flowing on the surface.

Ah too bad, do you know if there is any new mission that wants to land there?

I remember NASA and ESA wanted to work together for a probe to further study Titan and Enceladus, since both moons may have life, in 2020, but budget cuts for NASA might have shelved those plans for the foreseeable future.
