A sketch of a jackal from Halo 4 from my college sketchbook.In the books, the Jackals or Kig-jar are described to like human weapons. This one has a rifle. I'm not sure if it's the DMR.

Yes, kig-yar do like human weapons, I'm glad some one knows that. Can I tell you something? how many people play the video games and think that is a canon description of kig-yar, then, when I least expect it encountering the said people.... I honestly thought about going into cryo and waiting..... juuuust waiting..... until all other sentient beings inΒ the galaxy are gone. But hey, at least hardly any of them who think kig-yar go down easily are ever any challenge in combat.

I'm glad somebody else in DA reads the books 
A lot of stuff is in the books and in the recent comics.Β
Talking about cryo-sleep, looks very convenient in order to survive and save supplies... I personally found it scary. I'm a Biotech major, and I still have a long way to go... but I know that some kind of "anti-freeze" serum must be used in order to survive the cryo... and later, when it's time to wake up, the body go into shock, it would be very scary if the shock from waking up goes really wrong.
Well... when a spartan wears a Mjornir armor, the firsts and kicks are maybe stronger than a hit with a baseball bat. Kig-yar are aliens... most of them are though, except for most grunts.
