Description And since I'd wanted to do something sort of different for day 5 , I did!

Still having fun with a linework-heavy style; I might try doing something else with this today on a tone / colour level, if so I'll update it here...

Also if anyone wants to have a go colouring it I can give you the clean lines, just let me know

*edit* I'll post the clean lines tonight so people can take a stab at this, easier than having to individually pass 'em out.

**edit** Lines are up!

Enjoy

There is so much to look out in this even without color!

I love all the little details you've put into it including the harness on the larger beast and the little bell or decoration on its horn. The beast and bags it is carrying also have a tangible weight and the ropes tying everything down look like the have tension.Β

Just a pretty basic square brush - fav.me/d1yc98d though it works very similarly to the standard round one, too.

Giving me this to color would be like giving a 2 year old the mona lisa and saying "Make it beter"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DaedalJS In reply to KingOvan [2014-02-06 18:14:59 +0000 UTC]

if you're going to make a comparison like that you also have to take into account that for some reason there are a lot of people who actually like Picasso's work. Β

"better" is relative so why not have some fun?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingOvan In reply to DaedalJS [2014-02-06 18:40:46 +0000 UTC]

No, im just making the joke that his artist skills are leagues beyond mine. And besides have you heard of the story of where that one artist tried to restore a picture of Jesus and it turned out less than perfect...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DaedalJS In reply to KingOvan [2014-02-06 19:41:00 +0000 UTC]

i was joking a bit too based on what you said and something Picasso said "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime toΒ paint like a child."

at any rate i was also trying to say don't worry too much about the outcome and just enjoy trying. you can learn something from the process even if you don't like the outcome.

the people with skills didn't start with them and they've surely made their share of unskilled work along the way but they certainly didn't let that stop them or they wouldn't have gained the skills they have.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingOvan In reply to DaedalJS [2014-02-06 23:25:33 +0000 UTC]

I see what you are trying to say; however, there sheer task of trying to color that well with my inadequate skills makes it seem like an impossible task. I know that in time I will be able to do such things if I keep up with drawling but as for now his works almost make me feel depressed in a way. Like why should I try and start art when there are so many artist that are just as talented as he is.
