So beautiful! I love the thought of dinosaurs with spectacular plumage like their modern descendants.

Not sure why you're describing this as non-avian, but then those transitional forms are harder to pinpoint now we know the feathers have been there a lot longer'n we thought.
HAS the scientific community picked a dividing line yet?

The whole thing looks like a photograph until a few minutes later and rereading the description a few times.

Brilliantly done. I love your masterful use of color and contrast. I can feel the warmth of the mid-day sun, hear the surrounding insects. Kudos to your gift! Instant fav and watch.

I think the tail perfectly supports the composition! Also being a big fan of those areas where you can see through into the clear water!

Super beautiful! But raptor tails were more flexible than we once thought; they've been found bent in graceful s-shapes.

Ditto.
I have yet to draw in more, likeΒ Deinocheirus mirificus and a cattle-like sauropod mount.
I'm really into drawing ancient creatures and spiffing them up.
BTW, how do you rate my gallery?

wolfwings1 In reply to Ruschman [2014-11-12 23:06:34 +0000 UTC]
Pretty good, you seen that there may be evidence that Sauropods had feathers too, or least super proto feathers?
π: 0 β©: 1
Ruschman In reply to wolfwings1 [2014-11-13 15:49:45 +0000 UTC]
Nope, but that didn't mean they didn't. I must guess they had colorful waddles, though.
I drew quills (the stems that make up the feathers) along my sauropod's back to make it look cooler.
On my portrait,Β Ruschman Dinosaurs: Butcherotitan , you can see that these sharp things are not bony spikes but rather quills. I decided that while osteoderms (which are the boney spikes) would make the Allosaur more archaic, their very geometry got me to look into other body parts . . . and quills were the solution.

wolfwings1 In reply to Ruschman [2014-11-13 21:09:27 +0000 UTC]
well they found a really old dinoasur that would be close to the split between sauropods and therapods that appears to have proto feathers. Β So hints that maybe feathers are older then we thought and both liniedges had the potential.
