Okay, so there's this really crappy indie movie called "Ink" that I watched mainly 'cause the character of Ink looked...well, look at the picture above, he just kicked ass with his uber-huge nose.And we all know how I am about weird-lookin' characters with big noses, right?

Hey, the movie isn't complete crap... it's different, and weird, and it takes a while to really get you going

I -love- different, weird movies that take a long time to get going. I'll admit that some of the concepts in 'Ink' are interesting and original, but the way they carried it out just felt pretentious and precious to me. It's like they were trying too hard to be "deep" and "meaningful". And I really disliked the cinematography and overuse of filters. Also, I didn't appreciate some of the designs and the fact that they were obviously ripping off Gilliam's 'Brazil'. Now 'Brazil'... there's a great, weird, original movie that doesn't take itself quite so seriously.
I like crappy movies-- I'm a big fan of camp and stuff like that, but when a movie is obviously trying way too hard to impress you and takes itself SO SERIOUSLY... it rubs me the wrong way. Like I said, it comes off as pretentious.

I just LOVE it when someone on the Internet has an actual, coherent reason for disliking something, rather than just saying "I hate it! It sucks!" So refreshing to see someone come up with a good, reasonable explanation for their opinions.
This 'Brazil' movie sounds interesting. I'll have to check that out.

I actually liked the film as a whole. Yeah, Ink was a awesome character. Also liked the blind comical guy, somehow he reminded me of Valentine from Mirrormask.

Rosto is a great artist, and his series Mind My Gap is awesome. Just take a look through the series once, and if you don't like it, it's alright.

I think you have a serious anger problem, which I can understand when you've been a victim, but, hey. I'm a victim, too. We're on the same side here, so I don't know why you're getting so aggravated. I'm not asking for you to change, I'm asking you to get out of my face. I am not "a target", I beat the shit out of anyone who tries to bring me down and bully me. I admit, I used to have some serious problems with my sexuality, and I did get stepped on a lot. But I have psychological reasons for those problems, and I'm over them now. I don't doubt myself anymore.

But, jesus christ, draw the line somewhere! I'm not attacking you. I'm giving you my opinion, and what you do with that opinion is your own business. Your action offended me, I said so, and I apologise if it seemed 'extreme" or "overly-sensitive", but I said what I felt. I can't change your mind about a word, you can't change mine, and I actually don't understand why we're trying to or why this conversation has gone on so long.
I'm not angry with you, I don't want you to be pissed at me. I understand where you're coming from, all I ask is for you to understand where I'm coming from.
