It's stuff like this that ensures that the kroot are my favorite 40k species outside of the 'Nids. That said, they really need to put the the greater knarloc into their army lists imo.

Hey Mr-Culexus, would you mind if I added Lagasse Daal into a flashback in that fic I'm writing?
I have this character called an Infiltrator, quite a cold hearted bastard - who I wanted to inject a little humanity to.
So I wanted him to meet Lagasse Daal when she has her Kroot encounter.
Would you mind? Bear in mind, that if Black Library does publish this novel I would give you credit or change her name if you prefer.

So, since you say her missing limbs were devoured by the Kroot while she was still conscious in a battle with the Tau, I'm assuming your view of the Tau is rather... grimdark? Not so much the optimistic but naive good guys that they were originally made out to be?
Or were the Kroot operating outside of the control of their Tau employers control?

To summarise her, she's well rounded. All of her strengths are essentially joined with weaknesses. This helps her to remain 'human' and not become a super-man. I like that.
I like her too, any one who has survived being partially eaten alive is top soldier in my books. I may have to steal her. >_>
She also just so happens to remind me of one of the Expendables from this old arcade game, Millenium Soldier or something - cant think why though.

Always happy to help in any way I can. In regards to the Expendables, they were some kind of clone soldiers, hairless as well if I recall - and despite being made to be soldiers they could freak out in combat and curl up in a ball. Since they were expendable, the easiest thing to do would be to shoot them with another Expendalbe (you controlled like 4 at a time, a bit awkward with just one joystick) and this would flash on the screen Mercy Killing!! And you would get a brand new soldier.
Unfortunatley you would lose any weapons he was carrying, new guy just armed with a pistol. But, I think it fits W40k.

...though I'm noticing an interesting trend. With a few exceptions thus, Boone being one, the Edges seen to all have unusually high Morale as a common characteristic. It's not that they're all the very best of troops, but they're hard to suppress mentally to one degree or another.

Well, they're all survivors. A sole survivor from a catastrophe or a slaughter will either be too much of a wreck to be of use, or they'll be jaded and hardened, with steely hearts and calloused minds. This, is what Levy had in mind when he first proposed the idea of this unit.
