Triella does seem maternal when it comes to machines.
And yeah, Gm is awesome. Can't stress this enough.

I'm from /tg/ and I love me some Triela Wheeljack. Quite honestly, I like all the characters. Most of them are not stereotypical 40K characters (the pysker and both tech priests mainly, but the adept and assassin are cool too). This is a good thing in my eyes. Grim Dark is all well and good, but Grim Dark with witty character, that's where the money is.
I don't know who in your group made Triela, but she is one of my favorite characters I've seen for just about any roleplay for a very long time. So much so, when the Rouge Trader suppliment comes out, the magos on the ship in my game will probably look and act a lot like Triela and Gadget Hackwrench's illegitimate child...

Basically, the people in our group like warhammer 40k, but find the excessive wires and scarring kitsch and tiresome. We would look at the art in rulebook and go "well, that's neat, but that wire's just dumb. If he extends his arm, it'll snap" and seriously, what does a guy need that many tubes for? SO we dispensed with the OTT designs and made practical, unfancy, expressive characters, devoid of unexplained wires, skulls, scarring etc)
I'm glad you like them. Our group thought about our characters quite a bit.

I'm more or less the same way; I don't care for all the wiring, scars, shaving and random doodads in typical 40K art for my Dark Heresy characters. The semi-anime-ish style is not popular in the realms of /tg/, but then again, what is? If it's not dorfs or GRIM DARK most everyone hates it.
These characters are a lot more lively than the "Excessive Wires" and "lol, Bald" crowd, that's for certain. These characters are Awesome and you and your group should feel Awesome. Can't wait for more.

All the men ARE bald though. In Kerruns case it couldn't be helped as his sanctioning actually made him completely hairless.

Some would argue it's not true Grim Dark unless the women are "teh bald" as well... Thats what I mean.

The player rolled a 39 for agility and 40 for fellowship, so the standard, clunky, faceless techpriest didn't seem apt.

40 fellowship? Nice...for some odd reason my characters always had high fellowship no matter what...except Asha she was a demon in the weapons department (not literally, she was a Tau sniper)

40 fellowship is good for a techpriest (hivers start off with an advantage I think - not sure) but on the flipside, that's as high as it goes.

Time and time again, they demonstrate this. Its why I like writing comics based on rp, you're never gonna get under flawed or overpowered characters.

So... are they not worrying about what seems to have magically killed most of the people in the ship? Sure they need to keep from crashing, but I'm sure there's a spare person or two who could at least take a look around....

Mr-Culexus In reply to StrangerThanFact [2009-03-09 01:56:50 +0000 UTC]
The people on the ship were killed by a hail of bullets piercing the ship and filling it with airborne shrapnel. Top od page 3.
