As Angela continued to stave off the hunger, something was strange. Despite her fangs not taking in any nourishment, she was actually growing! And what a lovely young woman she suddenly was! Her clothes, which had once been subject to Winifred's scoffing, now looked tailor-made. Even her hair had been done up in a very sophisticated manner. She was all that her little vampire friend was, and so much more. She thought of Winifred's plans for overtaking the human world, and it all seemed so silly now. Being a vampire was enough. Being an upperclassman would be even better.

Taking the human world? Why dirty myself? Being older than the Countess was the ticket to Angela's freedom from all her futile schemes and her loud, nonsensical orders. She would still see Winifred, of course, but no longer as her minion. Who knows? In time, maybe she'll even look up to me as an example...
