Description Wow, its been a while since i did a spacescape. Well here's a classic from me. I was trying to get a natural feel of the starfield, nothing fansy that would steal away the attention, but rather something that would enhance the realistic feel. I worked on some new techniques regarding the planets, wich i think turned out ok. Guess what, no stocks this time The foreground was a photo i shot two days ago, freezing in the cold autumn wind here in norway lol. Anyways, it feels really good that i'm 100% selfsuffisient when it comes to foreground, planets, stars and 2d work. It was one of my first goals when i got here at da, and the toughest part was getting the cam and the patients to actually shoot the photos lol. The piece is my second addition to the Heavens Aromas pack

Working time: 6 hours, shootage included
tools of the trade: Photoshop cs2, Canon eos 20d/w Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L and as usual, tons of coffee

Hope you like it guys, it was fun to make

If it were me, I would have likely lowered the brightness (mibbe saturation) of the planet's atmosphere, at least towards the bottom. Though you've suceeded in making a 'simple' starscape that doesn't detract from the photo, the sheer strength of the planet's colour draws your eyes a bit too much imo. It may turn out that if you decrease it's definition too much then the entire picture becomes far too flat, but it's something I'd consider.

That being said, your evident skills in this (particularly concerning trees ) have inspired me to have a crack at something like this myself. Now I just need to find the time....

Woah, i love how everything just blends and it feels so real (though i think if a planet was that big in the sky, we'd all be just about to die) but i really like how this looks!

Couldn`t take my eyes off of the planet! And then I wanted to go fishing

Sexcellent planet texture, the stars are beautifully simplistic (sometimes, that just works SO well) and the tree is really well extracted. Atmo is blended well too. Lighting of planets is a bit meh.
