Description This is an abstract texture I did. It's different than my characters I usually create. I did a series of these different texures. Worley Basin is one of my favorites. These textures show another artistic style.

The works in this series toy with the perception of macro and micro. What seems large, resembling surface terrain, might also very well be seen as minute, like microscopic gestations in a petri dish. These images are neither.

They are instead entirely procdedural entities. Each image is a 3D shader rendered on a plane, representing a "pure" world of mathematical functions, a world which is neither big nor small but somewhere else altogether, yet not entirely unfamiliar.

These images were printed out for an art show. The final dimension of the work is 44"x44" with a resolution of 15,400 pixels x 15,400 pixels.

It does look like a hole in an ice cap. To me it also looks like maybe a crater left in some other icy planet, after the meteorite dissolved/eroded/exploded or whatever.
