Finally got around to making the superhero persona for Johnny for my JT reboot. Instead of some basic superhero, we're going full-on Kamen Rider in this house!

From the very beginning, I knew that I had to revamp Johnny X as a concept. I donna wanna diss the folks who like the original, but I feel like Johnny X is a tad bit basic for my liking. I get that superheroes play into the vibe of the original series, but Johnny X isn't really the most striking idea for a superhero. Power Poots will only get you so far.

With that said, considering that Primal Eternity's whole thing is adding plenty of tokusatsu elements into the franchise, I figured that revamping Johnny X into something like Kamen Rider would work wonders. While a good source of inspiration would be Armored Rider Gaim, I also used not only the original Kamen Rider for J-X's apperance, but the colors are also a direct reference to the playable Exosuit based on Johnny himself from Project Exonaut. For those who either don't know or remember, Project Exonaut was a MMOG game made by Cartoon Network, where players would control giant robotic suits based on various CN characters for team-based combat. While it's a weird place to pull from for inspiration, the whole robotic nature of the Johnny Exosuit, along with the color scheme that it had, it was perfect for J-X. Not only did I get to make a neat lil' reference to the series' time on Cartoon Network, I was able to find a color scheme that I felt worked best for the design.

Now that I've finally got J-X taken care of as a design, I can get back to coming up with more ideas for JTPE. And since October is right around the corner, I feel like that would be a very good time to draw up some more stuff for the reboot. Having a fictional setting filled with monsters and other supernatural phenomena really helps with the season, y'know.
