Description
The C&O built the following steam engines as expansion of their T1 2-10-4.
1. The T-2 2-10-6.
As an extension to the design for the J-4 4-8-6, Lima also tried the same improvements on the T-1 Texas type locomotives, resulting in the T-2 2-10-6 Super Texas heavy freight locomotive. These were mainly used on the same services as their smaller cousins the T-1s.
2. The T-3 4-10-6
Further develpment created the T-3. Qhich was also used on similar duties. However, some ended up being bought by other railroads like the Chicago, Wisconsin, and Southwestern.
3. The U-1 4-4-6-6
This engine was the next development. Which served as a slow freight engine in the West Virginia mountains. As well as on the Pere Marquette, C&O's subsidiary.
4. U-2 class 4-4-6-6
The fast freight version of the U-1. Nuff said.
