Description This is an experience that we must all go through. Losing a dear member of the family. The first real exposure to death and what it is all about. The grief, the loss, the void you are left with. As a kid this is a lot take in. I remember when my grand-father left us I didn't realize the extent of his passing and the conscequences for my family. I remember hearing the adults, my parents trying to explain that he had left for a better place, a peaceful one. Heaven. The man of faith had even preached to our sorrowful ears that the Angels would sing for him as he would ascend to His kingdom. "He left us in peace. His light has extinguished in a deep and joyful sleep.".
But you see, there is nothing peaceful about it. Death does not care about how we perceive it or wish for it to happen. Death is death. I learned it when the coffin opened. What it revealed was not the face of a peaceful passing. All the contrary..
