It's true. There's nothing wrong with wanting guidance, but some things we have to guide ourselves first. Don't get me wrong, I do believe the Lord has a huge hand in helping us and I do believe he is looking out for us, but we still have to be able to work hard and do what is right of our own free will first. Also, in all that wishing, instead of always asking the Lord for more, maybe we ought to stop and give him more thanks for what we already have.

It's been years since I posted this picture and can barely remember the rant that goes with it. But if I had to write a description now, your comment's message would definitely be part of my message, if it's not already part of my message.

Oh ye of little faith.
Of course God gives what you ask. But are you deserving of what you ask for?
Only God knows.
But do not waiver in faith. For even the Lord helps the ungreatful and sinners as well as the righteous alike.
Glory to the Lord of everlasting mercy and Jesus Christ, forever and ever. Amen

Friggin awesome! This made me think of my cousin who is always praying for insignificant things for his own personal gain (i.e. winning a football game, winning a bet, getting a date). I find it especially amusing when people do that and then they fail the exam anyway. Love the expresions deary, but the clothe on JC looks kind of wonky.

You have much wisdom and insight to realize this, as the vast majority of Christians today have failed to. If only there were more people out there who realized that it's not about them. It's not about finals and wrestling matches and video game highscores etc.
Anyway, I love this picture, and I really enjoyed it.

Do you think it's wrong to pray for help on a examination?
I usally pray for God to help me remember what I've learned and to help me be able to use it well on the examination... and so he does, I'm sure of it.

I like this piece. Its a well done satrical in my opinion.
Bunnyhop. I use to think just like you and I understand the perspective that you see things in. If you truely feel that God has led you to react in such a way to this piece of art then by all means continue on with your rebukes and reprovals.
However, I would recommend that you think about that reproving fire in your belly and ask yourself, "Am I directing this rightous indignation in the right place? Will it really change these people's minds to see things as I see them? Where can my thoughts truely be useful?"
Remember that it was taught not to cast pearls unto swine (I'm not calling anybody out there swine!).
My advice is that you clear your thoughts to give room to the thoughts of God, and pray and ask "Am I wrong on this? Is my critizism correct or could I have pressumed incorrectly about things?"
If you wait on him, and not jump to any conclusions, surely He'll answer you so that you will know how to properly conduct yourself and know how far some verses are to be taken and how far some are not to be taken.
Remember your God is God, the Bible is not God.

What?! You cannot be a Christian who truely loves God and be able to smile at this sacrelige! This is blasphemy in my opinion.
What kind of a potrayal of the Lord Jesus Christ is this? Do you realize He is the one who is coming back to earth on a white horse, and He is going to rule with an iron rod for a thousand years here? This is not some frail, pale, unable, unapt person.
Jesus Christ is God incarnate, and He has the power to save.
If you truely loved Him, this work would not appease you. You may rebuke me for being to hard, but you need to be rebuked for not caring. Maybe there should be an inbetween. You should have a righteous anger, but not toward the person. Just the sin.

Your taking all this too seriously bunny hop.
JC and all he did should be taken seriously, but he in the end was still human.
Clever satire is part of human. Jesus could, and probably would have draw this himself anyways if he thought about it at the time, just to make a point to us.
Perhaps JC devinely inspired Mcrappy to do this piece.
Back in the day Yeshua did a lot of things that were considered sacrilage. If this be sacrilage, then it be sacrilage for God.
Ironic and appropriate.

Bunnyhop In reply to KeanuGrym [2007-11-16 18:43:25 +0000 UTC]
In the end he was still human?
That is only half of the truth. Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% man. You are acting like he was only human. Jesus Christ was more than that.
Making blasphemous pictures that only show Him as a man are entirely warped and wrong. Jesus is Lord of all, and John 1:1 proclaims Him to be God. If that is not enough, John 1:3 proclaims Him to be the creator of the universe! Wow--maybe we should take Him a bit more seriously.

When you come right down to it, would someone who was so forgiving and kind really take himself so seriously as to find something like this blasphemous? I personally think he would rather be remember in peoples hearts and in amusing or endearing imagery, rather than in morbid effigies in stuffy churches.

This is very degrading. It's obvious you have no full perseption of the deity of Christ.
You also obviously have no idea why He died for you. He died to pay your sin debt, sir. You ought to be thanking Him, not teasing what he did for you.
Would you die in a sinful man's place?!
The stupidity of this world never ceases to amaze me.

And youβre the second person to judge a fellow Christian. But I think you illustrate the most amazing thing about the Bible: that people can read the same thing and can come up with totally different lessons to live by. That explains all the different sects of Christianity and Catholicism. I feel people asking Jesus to intervene in things that serve no benefit to their wellbeing as a misuse of his name. But you obviously think differently; if you think that Jesus died so that he could help the 49ers win the Super Bowl, then that is your right. Of course, I assume thatβs your belief because youβre an open-minded person who read my description to fully understand the reason behind my art before judging me, right? I appreciate and encourage all feedback, even if itβs negative. Sorry you didn't like my interpretation of the Bible.

Your interpretation of the Bible shows that you are obviously irreverent of Christ Jesus. There is absolutely no debate. I am judging righteous judgment; the Lord Jesus Himself said "Ye shall know them by their fruits."
I find your illustrations very offending to me. It is obvious that you have no perseption of the seriousness of Christ, nor do you fear the Lord...

>>Does that mean I'm going to burn?
Fearing the Lord will not save you, but if you are saved, you will fear the Lord more then this.
Therefore your NOT fearing the Lord in such a rash way as this is evidence that you are not born again.
>>Or do I respect him enough not to have to fear him.
No. Once you realize the awesome might and wonder of our great and powerful God, it will put some fear in you. This does not refer to a bad kind of fear. This is a holy, reverencial fear. It means that you love the Lord, but you are in awe of His power and might.
>>You make me laugh...HAHAHHAHAHAA!!

I like following the Bible, too. I always try to remember Jesus' teachings about not casting the first stone since we all have our faults; and even if this were a mocking piece Jesus himself said for God to not hate them since they know not what they do; and somewhere in the Bible about loving your friends, but loving your enemies more. There's something in the Bible for everybody, but looks like I can't please everyone. I still wish ya good luck in your own artistic career.
π: 0 β©: 1
Bunnyhop In reply to Mrcappy [2006-07-25 00:08:54 +0000 UTC]
Are you saying I am casting the first stone?
I'm sorry sir, but God also speaks of being instant to reprove and rebuke.
I love God enough to get mad when other people belittle Him. Did Jesus not cast the scribes out of the temple when they were turning it into a den of thieves?
Anyway, you said you could not please everyone.
You can't please everyone, but you CAN please God. And if REVERENCING God makes other people mad, then that is just too bad. The Bible says you should not be a manpleaser.

Ya know, one of the greatest things I've found about Jesus is all the roles he plays in our lives. He's our Father, Brother, Savior, Friend, Lord, God, Shepherd, and much more. Jesus is God, but he was also a human like you and me. This means he certainly has a sense of humor. I think you are much more offended by this than what Jesus himself is. This comic does not belittle him; it simply shows the truth of the way other people take advantage of grace and water down its importance. Jesus often told parables (sometimes humorous ones) similar to this in order to show people the truth. And now I'm rambling...
Anyway, lighten up a little. God gave us a sense of humor. Using it does not have to take away your reverence for what he did.

Wow, really? I think that's the first time my art actually offended somebody...go me!! Did you read my description? Usually the description explains why people draw certain things, and in my case it was mocking how people ask God to help with mundane things that really don't hinder their lives whatsoever, like praying for a certain football team to win. Me myself, I love the Big Jay, and he's helped me thru more problems than I have fingers. Hopefully I explained things to you, and hopefully you'll read artists' descriptions before commenting because some have lesser developed egos than me.
